She challenged the stereotype that sarees are exclusively for older generations and emphasized the importance of embracing handloom fabrics as a contemporary and empowering fashion choice. Balan encouraged people to wear sarees in their own unique style, highlighting the garment's versatility for any occasion. She expressed the need to celebrate the diverse weaves produced in India and urged for a sense of pride in our handloom heritage.

Balan shared her personal experience of feeling beautiful, confident, and authentic in a saree, regardless of body size fluctuations. She emphasized the importance of promoting sarees among younger generations and advocating for sustainability by preserving family legacies through garments rather than disposing of them after a few wears. By increasing the demand for sarees, Balan explained that it would support weavers in maintaining their livelihoods.The handloom sector in Karnataka is worth ₹1,000 crore every year, with 120,000 skilled weavers in the state. Karnataka has four key handloom clusters and produces over 45% of the Mulberry Silk in India.
